Week Two: New Orleans

While writing these entries I have a hard time not fully transitioning, so at the end of the day I am going to give you my biggest blessing or something I was truly grateful for that day. It also helps remind me to thank God for every blessing and burden because without them, I wouldn’t know His love.       Monday : It was a typical day at work but this time I was by myself! My patients, not only survived but their care was charted appropriately and timely.  One of my new coworkers was talking about traveling in January but she wanted a buddy to go with. I just looked at her and said “I will”. I may or may not have a buddy now. She even remarked how God must have just put me in front of her to get her to go. I feel the same way. Sometimes God speaks in whispers and other times He shouts it and shoves it in your face. I’m a person that needs a 2x4 over the head to finally listen.  Today I am grateful that God put this nurse in my path because it could mean another adventure.

Week One: New Orleans!

As you already know Sally ended up hitting the coast of Alabama so I dodged my first hurricane. My heart goes out to a state that I called home for four years and to those affected by the storm. People I know and love were affected so I would please ask you to send up a quick prayer for them.         I am titling this Week One because technically it’s my first week on the job so you (and I) can keep up with how much longer I will be down here for. My contract is 8 weeks long but I am hopeful to extend for an extra two. I guess it’s just in God’s hands now.  I also found that I hate writing in the past tense and I find myself falling into the past participle so I may change it up to the present. It will be more like a diary entry at the end of the day than a culmination at the end of the week.       Monday night: Yes, you heard all about the day but after I posted it I got a knock on the door from one of the daughters in the house. She brought me dinner because it was late and the

I’ve decided to write this blog to bring along family and friends on my adventures. This is my first time blogging outside of class so it may be a total bust. I’ll give it my best shot but I won’t promise you perfection. Mondays will hopefully be my publishing day but life can get in the way. If it does, I will post changes on Facebook.        Monday Taco Nights are the highlight of my week, where I can catch up with some of my family. If I can’t facetime in, this give me a way to share all my stories with not only them but anyone else bored enough to read about my life. I promise not to go through a play by play because sometimes the hum drum of everyday life or even my shifts can be quite boring. I will try to do only the highlights but like my mom’s side of the family, I love chatting people’s ears off. I don’t fully know how I want to organize so please bear with me for a little bit. Here goes nothing!        Wednesday: I left Omaha and a rainy 42 degree day behind. Thankfully
