Week Five: New Orleans

Image
I know I didn’t post last week but I was lazy at first and then life caught up with me. So you get two for the price of one! To make it not horrifyingly long Ill post mostly pictures for this week. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words so I get a pass with the pictures.  Monday : 5 hours of driving almost made me go crazy but getting to see Rachel was well worth it. For those that don’t know how we met, she literally said she wanted to be friends with me to a mutual friend and then made it happen. It cracks me up every time I think about it. Anyways we started our time together by doing a brewery bounce. It was a great time catching up because in college she was like a big sister to me.  Thankfully she’s an old soul like me so we headed to bed early so we could hike most of the day. Today I am thankful for someone that shares my love for early bed times hahaha.  Tuesday : Bright and early we started our way to Noccalula falls. We saw a sign that we thought was the begi...

Week Four: New Orleans

Another week has flown by! I cannot believe how much time flies. Sometimes the hard shifts feel more like days than hours but then the days off just fly by. I don’t have a set schedule every week so my days are all mixed up. Monday- Wednesday: I decided to clump all my days of work together this week because they were all in a row, so no fun to be had after work each night or in between shifts. Well Monday was a little “exciting” because Delta started grown in the Gulf and we were preparing for storm teams to come in and stay at the hospital. Since I was travel, my manager said I could do whatever I wanted and I told him that I would be on the storm team. It would be a whole new experience for me. For the sake of the people of New Orleans I hoped that it wouldn’t hit, but for my curiosity I wished it did. Thankfully it ended going to the west of us but my heart goes out to those people because they already got hit with a hurricane earlier this year. During these three days of work I w...

Week Three: New Orleans

Hello hello! I cannot believe week three is already down in the books. Sorry everyone but this week wasn’t full of adventures so there aren’t many pictures. I took my days off and sat by the pool in the sunshine and just read some books.      Monday : This week hit pretty hard because I was truly missing out at home. My grandma, Bernardette, as many of you know, is my world. We have weekly dates, just her and I, and then I see her at least 1-2 times more because of family things. Well she got COVID and it scares the crap out of me. I have seen the virus turn on a dime and just hearing how tired she was, unnerved me. Any of you that know my grandma know that she doesn’t stop, so her telling me that she couldn’t get out of bed did not sit right with me. I wish I could be there helping her but all I can do is pray.  This is what I was most afraid of when traveling but again I just have to cast all my worries and fears on the Lord.     ...
