Answering God's Call

Monday 12/28 : Day one of actual quarantine. Yep you read that right, my test came back positive. I am virtually asymptomatic. I have allergy like symptoms but again I have been changing climates over the past two weeks. After complaining for a bit I realized that through all of COVID I have been extremely blessed. I was still able to have some normalcy with work and even though I didn’t have family or friends, I was still able to hang out with Mike because we worked at the same place. There have been people that have been in lock down since March. I just have to suck it up for the next ten days. I was worried about what my new friends would think but each and every one of them asked if there was anything they could do to help me out. Their kindness was truly a testament to the “aloha” culture.  The next week will not be what I was expecting but it is what it is. Aloha!  To say that I am beyond blessed to be able to go is an understatement. As you can see my next assignment is in Honolulu, Hawaii!  I know its 48 hours and is a night shift but I’m going to make the most of it. My mom said that if I even just had one day a week that it would be worth it. We will see how that goes. Obviously I am going to try this blog out again. I have gotten several comments from friends that asked what happened to it. Well I got busy and lazy, but mostly lazy. I have so many thoughts in my head and then I go to write them down and half the time I go blank or I just get sick of writing the all out. I am going to give you a taste of the first two days because the post to follow will be all about QUARENTINE!  Saturday 12/26 :       I got to start my day off at 3:30am! I know I didn’t post last week but I was lazy at first and then life caught up with me. So you get two for the price of one! To make it not horrifyingly long Ill post mostly pictures for this week. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words so I get a pass with the pictures.  Monday : 5 hours of driving almost made me go crazy but getting to see Rachel was well worth it. For those that don’t know how we met, she literally said she wanted to be friends with me to a mutual friend and then made it happen. It cracks me up every time I think about it. Anyways we started our time together by doing a brewery bounce. It was a great time catching up because in college she was like a big sister to me.  Thankfully she’s an old soul like me so we headed to bed early so we could hike most of the day.
